Cross Country season recap

Ryan Carroll, reporter

The cross country season recently came to an end and it was a very successful one to say the least. Many of the runners also succeeded individually. The boys team finished the season undefeated. They were the Division 1 champions and also the Schuylkill league champions. They were the District 11 runner up team. The girls finished their season with a winning record of six wins and five losses.

“We worked extremely hard this summer and put a lot of hard work. That is what helped lead to our successful season this year,” senior Jonathan Condly.

The boys team had a very successful run at the district race. Senior Jonathan Condly placed second, and junior Dylan Bucior placed third. Jonathan also was the individual Schuylkill league champion.

“Well, for the girls, we had a young team, but practice and hard work really contributed. We all pushed each other and ended with a winning season, which was our goal,” said senior Lindsay Capper when asked what led to the success of the team’s season.

The boys team also qualified for the PIAA state race in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Jonathan was the only runner to earn a medal at the race. He finished in fourteenth place.

“The off season means everything to our success. Without all the training in the off season we would never have been so successful,” said senior Jonathan Condly when asked how crucial the off season is to a successful season.
