With prom right around the corner, everyone attending is making their final preparations. Dresses are very important to the girls attending, but what about the guys? What are the tuxedos going to be like this year? One can argue that all the guys wear similar suits, however there is a lot more to tuxedos than meets the eye.

According to the website, www.friartux.com, “The way to distinguish a tuxedo from a suit is the satin. You can find that satin on the lapels, buttons, and sometimes pockets, whereas a suit will have the same fabric all throughout.”

The styles for prom vary, however, there is one trend that is often seen. That trend is slim fit. A lot of people are renting tuxedos with slim cuts to them. According to Westchester Magazine, “The slim-fit is in for tuxedos. Ninety-five percent of everything out right now is slim. It’s one of the biggest rentals right now”

Today’s tuxedos come in an array of colors and styles. From the traditional black tie event tuxedo to the white dinner jacket style, there are many options when picking out a tuxedo. According to the data that was recorded from a pool of senior men in Jim Thorpe Area High School, the slim is very popular. However, the modern is still prominent and there are some people who will wear it. On the other side,  there is the classic style. The classic style has died down in popularity significantly.
