The Rambo is a popular sandwich on the menu at Tommy’s Steaks and Subs in Jim Thorpe, PA. It was named and created after a former JTHS student. Past and current students flock to Tommy’s to eat the monstrous sub!

“The Rambo contains chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, steak, and American cheese,” Danny Diaz, a Senior at JTHS, and frequenter of Tommy’s said.

There are many ingredients that go into making the Rambo so delicious. All of these ingredients need to be considered when assigning a cost to the sandwich.

According to Cory Citro, owner of Tommy’s Steaks and Subs, the Rambo costs six dollars and ninety five cents for an eight inch sub, and eight dollars and ninety five cents for a twelve inch sub.”

A few JTHS students were asked about their opinions of the famous Rambo sandwich.

Sophomore Alex Evans remarked, “The Rambo was the best thing ever.” While Sophomore Chris Condly said, ”The Rambo was the best and most amazing thing I have ever had.”

The Rambo has been a staple on the menu at Tommy’s for some time now. Through the years, students have been enjoying this giant treat.

“It was first sold in 2009,” said Cory Citro.

The Rambo is a high calorie item on the menu.  Some people may be interested in a healthier version.

“Maybe in the future we might make gluten free bread, but other than that, we would invent a fourth Rambo. We can substitute grilled chicken for deep fried chicken for anyone that asks,” Cory Citro commented.

The sandwich has gained much popularity throughout the community. It seems as though everyone knows about it.

I “made it for a friend one day, and by word of mouth, they all started ordering it,” said Cory Citro.

Filled with many ingredients, The Rambo is not the healthiest item at Tommy’s.

When asked about the sandwich choice, Citro stated, “It’s not that the Rambo is not healthy.  If a customer would order a cheese steak and french fries, or cheese steak and chicken fingers, it’s actually the same as that. Just proportioned differently compared to our other items.  We just adjust the amount of ingredients and put them all together in one sandwich, that combination is what makes it taste great! My only advice is to make sure you’re hungry!”

People would have to be hungry to eat a sandwich of that size! People of all ages love the Rambo.

Cory Citro commented that, “Ages range from ten years old to eighty years old, they all love them, and too many customers to count.”

Wow! A lot of people really love the Rambo sandwich.  It must be out of this world.

Citro said, ”Our Rambos have creative ingredients and our fresh rolls are made daily. It is a combination like none other.”

The sandwich has originated in friendship.

 

“Our long time friends and customers who we made it for named it,” commented Citro.
