UNICEF tap project

UNICEF tap project

Some are thinking of using their phones to help others. There is a website which may not be new to the Internet, but will probably be new to most people. This website, called the UNICEF Tap Project (tap.unicefusa.org), is a free website which allows people to help children across the world receive the clean water they need to survive, but sadly lack. For every fifteen minutes spent not touching or using your phone, UNICEF, with the help of their sponsors, will donate a day’s worth of clean water to a number of the 748 million children around the world that do not have this basic resource available.

“I love the fact that you can do something as simple as this and help others,” sophomore Joclyn Day said.

As people participate in this project, there will be facts about the project displayed at random, such as the longest record, who is participating in an area, or facts about the number of children receiving the water.

Another sophomore, Kaitlin Feller, says, “It’s a productive and simple way to help society.”

Since 1990, UNICEF has been able to get water to 2.1 billion people that need it, and the number will only keep growing from here.
