Jim Thorpe girls basketball

Colleges, as well as high schools, often have sports programs. Whether spring, winter, or fall sports, many teenagers are involved in them. In Jim Thorpe High School, girls basketball has improved immensely this past school year. The girls have better learned how to play as a team, rather than just as a player. Some of girls have been playing together for a few years now, whereas others just started. Although some girls are newer, they are still very close, not only on the court, but off of the court as well.

Mr. Robert Kovac, the coach of the Jim Thorpe girls basketball team says, ”They are a good group of girls, who work hard and are dedicated, they are the true definition of what a student athlete should be.” Kovac takes pride in coaching these girls and sees real potential in each and every one of them.

When the girls started playing basketball, it was a new hobby that they always wanted to do. At first, it was nothing more than playing, but now the girls see it as a game played that they want to win. The girls have learned how to work together and communicate on the court with their team members, so that the girls can not only win, but dominate.

When Gabby Stauffer, a sophomore at Jim Thorpe high school, a member of the girls basketball team, was asked about the girls playing together her response was quite simple. Gabby says,”every girl playing basketball for Jim Thorpe belongs on this team, therefore they must play together to play their best.” Jordan Waselus also a sophomore at JIm Thorpe high school, a member of the varsity girls basketball team, says “I couldn’t be happier to belong to a team with a team of girls who all take pride in the same thing.”

After interviewing these girls, and hearing what not only the team members of the team have to say, as well as the coach, it is safe to say these girls will be making it very far in their basketball careers over the next few years. These girls will continue to push, pursue their dreams with basketball, and not only play the game, but also love playing the game as one team.
