New York Spanish trip

Throughout high school, many students will attend field trips. Because these field trips are during time of schooling, they are most often times educational field trips. In the past two weeks, the Spanish club students have attended two trips, the “big trip,” as all the students are calling it, was a trip that took place in New York City. All students in Spanish 2 attended the cultural trip.

There were a few adult chaperones that went along on this trip, one of which included Spanish teacher, Mrs. Hoffert. When Hoffert was interviewed, she was asked the reason for the trip, safety issues, and any events that were attended.

Hoffert stated, “We went to NYC for a Spanish, cultural trip.” Despite being in a very large city with many teenagers, she also said, “There were no safety issues.”

Hoffert explained all of the events the students took a part in during the trip.

The group toured the city in separate groups. This made traveling easier. When everyone began to get hungry, they went to a fantastic Mexican restraint for dinner. After dinner, they went to a nearby theatre to see Ballet Hispanico.

According to Darin Murphy, “the show was amazing and the actors were very creative.”

After the show, they also took place in a tour at a workshop in a Spanish museum.

Murphy says, “this was my favorite part of the tour, getting to learn more on the culture and history.”

Murphy also talked more about the food. He said, “Although the pizza I ordered was rather pricey, it was very much worth the money!”

After speaking with a few people who were able to attend this trip, it is okay to say everyone enjoyed this educational and unforgettable trip to New York City.
