Mr. Oliver is a new teacher at JTAHS as of the 2016-2017 school year. He teaches Health and Gym. Mr. Oliver is a big fan of movies; his favorites include Forrest Gump, The Usual Suspects, and Silence of the Lambs.

“Shawshank Redemption is probably the best movie ever created, but it’s not my favorite,” Oliver stated.

Mr. Oliver does not have much free time because he is in the process of buying a house, and he is expecting a baby.

“Although when I do find free time, I like to spend time with family and friends, watch football, and occasionally play video games.”

Before working here, Oliver worked at a Concern Treatment Unit for boys. The unit is a residential placement across the street from Mahoning Valley Country Club. From a young age, Oliver wanted to teach and coach. It took him nine years after college to have the opportunity, and he says every day is a blessing.

“This is my dream job,” he states.

Oliver attended Slippery Rock University (THE ROCK) and is a huge Penn State football fan. Oliver watches Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Everybody’s free to wear sunscreen’ and Inky Johnson’s ‘Impose Your Will.’

“When I am down in the dumps, I watch either one of these on YouTube. It will give you a great perspective of life,” Oliver says.
