2016 school year

Students at the Jim Thorpe Area Senior High School have been having a great 2016 school year so far, but now 2017 is finally here and it is going to be great!

Frau Semuta, the German teacher says, “Getting a German three class was my favorite part of this year so far.” When asked, if she thinks 2017 will be a better year than 2016, Frau Semuta thinks 2017 is a new year and it will be better than 2016.

Was 2016 a bad year or a good year? Many people agree that 2016 was a bad year and on the other hand, some people think it wasn’t all that bad. A big influence on people’s opinions of the year in general was the big election between Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton. Some people say that Trump winning the election made it a better year, while others say it made it worse.

Taylor Huth, an eleventh grade student here at Jim Thorpe High School, says her favorite part of the 2016 half of the school year was in the very beginning when everyone came back and got to see everybody after a long summer break.

After a long summer break, not many people want to come back to school; however, it is nice to see all your friends after the break and catch up with them.

“2017 will be a better year than 2016,” says Taylor Huth, agreeing with Frau Semuta.

The 2016 half of the school year may have been a mixed start for the students and staff of JTAHS. No matter of how the year started, turning around the next half of the year in a positive manner is always an option.
