Summer trip to Costa Rica

Mrs. Shirar is taking a group of seven students to Italy and Greece from June 24 to July 3, 2019. She is doing this so students get to experience different cultures.

When asked if she has a schedule for the trip, she replied, “Yes there is. Explore the Roman Catacombs, a tour of Rome, travel to Florence, travel to Ancona, board a night ferry to Igoumenitsa, tour a Meteora Monastery, travel via Delphi to Athens, and then take a guided tour of Athens.”

There is a lot planned for the trip, it costs quite a bit, but students think it is worth it because it is a great opportunity for students to have a lot of fun, explore, and try new things that will get them out of their comfort zones.

Mrs. Shirar was asked about the price of the trip. She said, “For students it’s $3,955 and adults $4,495.”

The students paid money to explore and get to see the history of Italy and Greece.

When asked what activities they will be doing, she responded with, “In Rome we will be visiting the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, Roman Forum, and Colosseum. In Florence we will be visiting Piazza Della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Basilica of Santa Croce, and Gates of Paradise. In Delphi we will see the Temple of Apollo and Delphi Archaeological Museum. Lastly, when we are in Athens we are going to the Olympic Stadium, Acropolis, Plaka district, and Temple of Zeus.”

Mrs. Shirar and students have a lot planned for their trip to Italy and Greece. They are going to need a place to stay.

When asked where they all will be staying, Mrs. Shirar responded with, “Hotels of 3 to 4 stars.”

Mrs. Shirar and students are excited to spend time in a very historic, beautiful, and interesting country.
