Telegrams by JTHS Glee Club

Last week, and throughout this week, Glee Club started selling Valentine’s Day telegrams to students. They will be preforming them throughout pods this week. They were selling them for a fundraiser at Jim Thorpe Area High School.

“I think this will affect the student body  as a whole by giving them an idea of what Glee is all about, and spread some Valentine Cheer,” Kim Hill, Glee Club advisor.

Jim Thorpe Glee Club will preform the songs people bought in lunches during pods as long as they have the teachers permission to preform it to that student recipient.

“This Activity would spark conversation, ideas, and more and help unite people together,” Sarah Rosenberger, Glee Club President

Glee Club also has an idea if this has good feedback from students who purchased the songs for the recipients that they will also be doing it for prom as well, but with more choices of songs.

“If this went well I would definitely consider it for prom as we could do a lot more for that and truly help people out and have fun at the same time,” Sarah Rosenberger, Glee Club President.

So far, the Jim Thorpe Glee Club received good reactions towards the telegrams that were bought for certain recipients. Some friends and other people of the recipient thought the songs were cute and decided to get some once they saw the Glee Club preform them for the recipients.

“Definitely can bring people together. As a whole, maybe not, but even just bringing two people together is important,” Sarah Rosenberger, Glee Club President.

Glee Club is always looking for new members and for more people to fully accept them as a whole club. They may not do big shows like Chorus, but they are equally important as Chorus, meaning some members do both Chorus and Glee club. Maybe one day they will be fully accepted as a club, but for now, they can help spread positivity and cheer by other activities including the school and surrounding communities.
